This article is for Pet, Salon, Spa, and Body Art users ready to take payments with CardConnect/CardPointe.

Now that you have set up your credit card reader and connected it to the software, you're ready to start bringing in the money! In this article, you can find the steps to take payments on the website and in the app!


💻 Website

  1. Click on the +Create button at the top left of the appointment book.

  2. Select New Appointment or New Transaction will skip the appointment and go straight to ready to take a payment.

  3. In the first search bar, search for an existing client, create a new client, or leave the client search blank for a walk-in.

  4. The second search bar is for the Products and Services.

  5. Once your service is added, you can adjust the appointment time and price if needed. For a test payment, we recommend changing the price to $1.00

  6. After you have everything added for the appointment, you can click Schedule in the upper right corner, or proceed to payments if there is no appointment being scheduled.

    1. When the time of the appointment comes, you can click on the slot and check in, and when they are ready to pay, click on the appointment again and check out.

  7. Click on one of the options below to finish the payment

Manually entered Payment

  1. Click Proceed to Payments

  2. From the next screen, click on Credit under Payment Methods.

  3. To take a payment manually, click on Enter card information.

  4. Enter a tip under Tip Amount and click Add, or click Skip to skip the tip portion and move on to continue taking the payment.

    1. If you're looking to split the tip, click the +Add Tip button to select another employee and enter the amount for each.

  5. Under Enter Card number, enter the Card Number, Expiration Date, Security Code, and Zip code of the card being used.

  6. If you want the card saved on file, you can check the option for Keep card on file (note - this will not be visible for walk-in clients)

  7. Click Process Card

  8. The screen will load while it is processing the transaction.

  9. Review the transaction from the Order Summary and click Close Ticket.

  10. You can send yourself a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt.

  11. When the screen shows Transaction Complete!, select the Calendar option to return to the website.

Credit Card Reader Payment

  1. From the checkout page, click Proceed to Payments.

  2. Click the Credit button.

  3. Wait for the device to show Connected, then click Process Card.

    1. If you have multiple devices, you may need to click the dropdown to select the right one.

  4. A window will pop up while a signal is sent to the device for checkout. Follow device prompts.

  5. The device will prompt for Tip - Present to your client for them to select from one of the options.

  6. After the tip is selected, the client will be presented with their total amount due.

  7. From here, they can insert their credit card into the slot at the bottom, swipe from the top, or tap using their card or smartphone/watch if using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay.

  8. If you're looking to split the tip, click the +Add Tip button to select another employee and enter the amount for each.

  9. Once the transaction is successful, the device will show Approved, and the web page will return to checkout.

  10. From the web page, click Close Ticket to finalize the payment.

  11. Transaction Complete! You can choose to send your client a receipt via email or print it using a receipt printer.

📱Mobile App

  1. Click on the plus sign + in the bottom right corner.

  2. Select an existing client, create a new client, or walk in.

  3. You can adjust the appointment time by clicking Time.

  4. Click Services and Products, then +Add Service or +Add Product, and search for the items you're looking to add.

  5. After you have everything added for the appointment, you can click Book Appointment at the bottom.

  6. When the time of the appointment comes, you can click on the slot and check in, and when they are ready to pay, click on the appointment again and check out.

  7. Click on one of the options below to finish the payment

Manually entered Payment

  1. Tap Payment Details

  2. Select Credit Card

  3. If you want the card saved on file for future use, you can slide the option for Save Card on File.

  4. Under Process Card With, click Enter Card Number Manually.

  5. You select a preset tip from the Tip screen, or tap No Tip to move on to the payment of the test transaction.

  6. From the Enter Card Details screen, enter the Card Number, Expiration Date, Security Code, and Zip code of the card being used.

  7. Tap Pay

  8. You have now successfully taken your payment 🎉

  9. You can send yourself a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt to return to the app.

Credit Card Reader Payment

  1. Tap Payment Details

  2. Select Credit Card

  3. If you want the card saved on file for future use, you can slide the option for Save Card on File.

  4. Under Process Card With, select the device (the device could be named something different during setup). Your reader should be showing as connected. If not, please reconnect your wifi.

  5. From here, they can insert their credit card into the slot at the bottom, swipe from the top, or tap using their card or smartphone/watch if using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay.

  6. The Cardholder can select their tip amount on the screen.

  7. You have now successfully taken your Payment🎉

  8. You can send yourself a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt to return to the app.
